A Broken Friendship:

    Matt was a brainiac, whereas Tyler had the brawns. Despite their physical and mental differences, their friendship blossomed grandly throughout the years, weathering even the worst situations. However, a wedge dug itself between them in the form of Matt's accidental chemical concoction. Without fully knowing of its consequences, Matt had Tyler drink his supposed body enhancer only to shrink his musclebound body into that of a delicate flower, into that of a woman's.
    After several months of sleepless nights after the incident and the friend's falling out, Matt rushed into the gym Tyler frequented with a new potion in hand. He spotted his feminized friend at one of the machines. Tyler, on the other hand, didn't share the brainiac's enthusiasm, glaring while working out.
    "Tyler!" Matt shouted, holding out the vial with blue goo. "Tyler! I did it! I found the antiserum! You can be a man again!"
    Tyler snatched the vial out of Matt's grasp and eyed the contents suspiciously. His eyes wandered between the bubbling fluid and the apologetic, nearly pleading expression his old friend wore.
    "Oh yeah, Matt," Tyler scoffed, "you expect me to believe you all of a sudden." After a long pause, Tyler finally spoke again. "After what happened...No. I don't want to be your guinea pig anymore." He tossed the vial back to Matt, who nearly dropped it.
    Tyler did not have time for apologies. He continued his workout with his disdainful gaze firmly fixated on Matt.
    "What, you don't trust me?" Matt asked, his eyes blaring with desperation. But Tyler didn't waver, continuing his reps without a sound.
    Matt, seeing Tyler's persisting reluctance, placed the vial on a nearby bench and slowly slinked away, feeling the guilt and pity slowly digging deeper and deeper. Perhaps this was for the better. He already hurt his friend once. With a regretful, heavy heart, he left the gym with a new realization—sometimes, trying to fix something so broken could cause more damage than good.
